One of biggest problem United States faces is mental health issues. It seems like everything that happens such as shooting, drugs and crime all have a common thread. All these issues involve people with some type of mental issue.

  7. Gail Zimmerman says:

Hi Ellen…I am watching your show today while recouperating from whooping cough. I am writing to enter your contest for the trip for two to Australia. I have been fighting laryngeal cancer since August 2010. After 7 weeks radiation therapy and four months recouperation, I returned to work as a Probation Officer. I had to retire disabled this May at age 46 after 15 years with the county because my cancer returned to metastasize in my right lung. I am on my second “cocktail” of chemo…this one has made me lose my hair, but has shrunk the tumors 40%. I try to stay positive, to live life “sunny side up “! But I don’t know how much time I realistically have, and would love to travel with my husband of one year and the love of my life. He has been there for me throughout my fights with cancer while working his tail off to support us. He insists we will have at least 37 years together and is my greatest supporter! Please consider us for your contest…we both have our passports, as we are only an hour’s drive from Montreal. Thank you, Ellen.

Luv your show and you AND all you do. All my life the one place I’ve wanted to visit is Australia. I have recently retired and going to Australia is a dream of mine. Don’t think I can afford the trip, but it is a nice dream. I will be content staying home with my rescue pets and watching you on tv. Can’t wait to see you “down unda” I hope you remain on tv for another 25 years!

  11. Sharon Thielemier says:

Ellen I watch your show everyday. I think you are one of the most generous, giving, what you do for children and their schools or just a family down on their luck you just jump in and help and it comes strait from the heart. You try to keep emotions in check but those beautiful eyes fill with tears and only true people who care can see that and can feel that with you. I would only hope people would say that of me. My husband and I have been married for 42 years we have 3 children and 4 grandchildren, we would love to go with you and call that our 2nd honeymoon even though our anniversary is Dec. 12, 1970. I’ve been having some health issues the last few years and you are on the top of my bucket list! Please consider us. P.S. you would love my husband!!

  12. Heather Freeland says:

Hello Ellen! Let me first say how much I love you and your show, you have helped so many people in need and that is so amazing to me. I don’t want to give you a long drawn out sob story of my life right now but I would like to share a little and see if you can offer any advice. My husband lost his job in October and it took until almost the end of November for unemployment to kick in, I’m on disability and we care for our two children my daughters boyfriend and our grand daughter. We had to file for food assistance, medical and whatever we could get, since then my daughter she is 18 and had the daughter, she’s a senior and working a full time job also now and her boyfriend is working but we are still having trouble making ends meet, my husband and I have almost separated several times over the stress and and his drinking problem, we are now having to find another place to live,Ellen with all this stress going on I have become sick and am having scope surgery because the Dr. Believes I’ve developed an ulcer. It just seems like the stress never ends, can you offer me any advice I desperately need it. Thank you so much.

  13. tara fredenburg says:

Want to win the trip to Australia because I would love to meet Ellen she makes laugh everyday.

  14. Marlene Froemming says:

My friend Tom Kraft is a single father who raised his 3 children pretty much alone. They have always come first in his life and still do. He is 56 and still working 3 jobs to help them and his 4 grand daughters out. He is a wonderful man and his biggest wish is to take his son Matt and go to Australia or an exotic island to scuba dive and fish. He wants to share that one trip with his son. He does so much for the girls it would be his sons payback for never complaining about all the money he helps the girls with. I love this man so much. He has such a big heart. He is truly a good person. I would give it to Tom to make at least that one wish to come true.

  15. Hey Ellen, I would love a trip anywhere. I’ve always wanted to see Ireland, England or Australia. I’m 68 years old and I have a deaf son that lives with me. My husband died eleven years ago, so it’s just the two of us. I’m sure that there are more people deserving on the trip but they couldn’t wanted more than I do.
In any case I would like the opportunity to tell you how much I truly enjoy your show. I can be having the worse day possible and I see that beaming smile of yours and your joy for life and I catch myself beaming ear to ear. It’s a very positive, up beating and entertaining show. So for a hour daily, I smile, laugh and enjoy your show. I know that this your first trip down under, so I hope you have a fantastic time . So if I can’t have the trip, I will enjoy your being there and enjoying it.

  16. Kelly Addis says:

My Mother turned eighty this year. She’s positive & kind, beautiful inside & out like you. She deserves a trip to see you out of the country. (she’s never been abroad) Well she was born “a broad!” HA! ‘nough said.

  17. Jessica Skrzyniarz says:

Get me pregnant ELLEN! Well not you personally, but can you see what you can do? A trip to Australia would be a life changing event for us since we have been trying to conceive for over a year without any luck. Ellen, we need to swim in the fertility waters of Kununurra that Nicole Kidman talks about. We are from a small town in New Hampshire and clearly the water here is very COLD! Winning this would be our dream trip and we could cross it off our bucket list. Since we began dating we always talk about visiting Australia to see the amazing scenery/landscape, koalas… koalaing, kangaroos… kangarooing? and sharks torpedoing out of the water. We work very hard during the week but record your show everyday and have Ellen marathons on Saturday morning. Laughter is a huge part of our lives and your show eases everyday stress and puts a smile on our faces. Dance is an important part of Australian cultural tradition, so I need to dance with you there to keep the tradition alive! To sum it up I deserve to win this trip so we can prove the theory of Kununurra and name our beautiful baby Ellen! Unless its a boy, then we will have to go with Tony… lol. Australia or bust mate!
